The CB650F is a great quality, middleweight four cylinder, semi-naked sports bike. ‘YW17 DLE’ looks great in its deep blue livery and its overall condition is excellent based on light usage to date. Currently in the hands of its sixth keeper, ‘YW17 DLE’ has covered a mere 5, 000 miles to date. In current ownership it has never been used in the wet or in winter and has been kept garaged between uses. ‘YW17 DLE’ includes an advisory free MOT until May as well as boasting a full service history, original book pack and accompanying paperwork.
‘YW17 DLE’ is not a frivolous or bling-laden middleweight but it exhibits the usual, high-quality Honda attention to detail. Firstly, the blue livery looks modern and fresh and the complex header pipes, the textured seat finish and carbon effect infill panels around the tank all help give ‘YW17 DLE’ a highly distinctive persona. The multi-spoke alloy wheels are finished in a combination of black and polished alloy accents. Elements of the engine casings feature a bronze anodised finish for added character. A low rider saddle height and a higher pillion perch lend ‘YW17 DLE’ a flexible character with a surprisingly comfortable rider environment. Paint, bodywork and rider environment are all rated as “excellent.”
At launch the CB650F was fitted with an all new 649cc, 16-valve, DOHC four cylinder engine mated to a slick six speed manual transmission. Original output was around 85bhp in a machine weighing just over 200 kgs. This combination equates to a 130mph plus top speed and impressive urge throughout the rev range. Double, 320mm wavy, drilled discs are fitted up front with a single one at the rear and ABS is present. Given ‘YW17 DLE’s’ low mileage and full service history, it is no surprise that all mechanical systems are rated as “excellent.”
