‘BCV648T’ is a 1978 Volkswagen Beetle 1600 which was imported to the UK in 1985. ‘BCV648T’ has been in its current ownership for around a year but has been hardly used in that time. Today ‘BCV648T’ features a popular custom rat look finish with flames marked out on the nose in a varnished, rust look finish. The rear wings are also customised with a patinaed, rubbed down look, lending ‘BCV648T’ a distinctive style of its own. ‘BCV648T’ is classified as an Historic Vehicle based on its age and so is zero rated for road tax and MOT exempt. ‘BCV648T’ is reported to drive really well and is well placed to make a great light project for a Beetle fan or enthusiast. ‘BCV648T’ is offered here with NO RESERVE.
‘BCV648T’ has enjoyed a couple of colour changes in its history, but someone has expended much time and skill on the customised elements of this customised Beetle at some point. The majority of the body is finished in black, but the aforementioned patinaed elements help set it apart from the crowd. Other custom features are the staggered alloy wheels and tyres with simulated centre spinners, chromed quad tail pipes and engine cover viewing window. Detail touches include shaped and flame emblazoned wing mirrors, vintage style front indicators and a truncated front bumper. The interior features customised features, too, including a padded dash and uprated instrumentation. The paintwork, bodywork an interior are all rated as “average.”
‘BCV648T’ is thought to be fitted with the 1600cc version of the legendary, Volkswagen air cooled boxer engine mated to the usual, four speed transaxle based transmission. One of the advantages, of course, of Beetle ownership is the myriad of replacement or upgraded parts available for the mechanical facets of these highly customisable, fun classics.
In summary:
· A distinctively customised example of the 1600cc Beetle
· Many customised parts fitted and ripe for further improvement
· Now MOT exempt and zero rated for road tax
