Description
The MG ZT 260 may appear to be just another variation in the MG ZT range, but this is a car that has undergone very substantial development before its launch. Originally a transverse engine, front wheel drive cruiser, the 260 was re-engineered to a longitudinally mounted, in line, V8 with rear wheel drive and limited slip differential. In this form, the engine displaces 4. 6 litres and delivers a lazy but extremely effective 260bhp and a huge 410Nm of torque. In MG ZT260 the transmission was by way of a Tremec 5-speed manual box. Just 883 V8 MG's and Rover 75 V8's were built during the short production run and a mere 192 pre facelift MG260's, so they are a pretty rare sight. Input from Prodrive and other respected British engineering companies ensured that the concept became a physical reality. Offered here is a pre facelift example from late 2003, which is finished in Starlight Silver with black leather interior. The car comes with a book pack, an MoT through to November 2025 and has just been equipped with a new battery. This is a well used example of the pre facelift ZT260, which would benefit from some TLC. It retains its original sound track and its wonderful tourqey V8. It just needs a little love. A rare rear wheel drive V8 sports saloon, with enough room for the family, their luggage and the power and soundtrack for a day at a circuit., tlc
