Description
FIAT 126 1975 - Presented by Fiat in October 1972 at the Turin Motor Show, the 126 replaced the Fiat 500, using important elements of its design. It was produced from 1972 to 2000. It was powered by a horizontally-opposed air-cooled twin-cylinder engine and featured a tailgate with additional load space. From January 1973, continuing the tradition of the Topolino and then the 500, the Fiat 126 was also available with a canvas sunroof. The mechanics were also updated, with more comfortable suspension, more effective brakes and an alternator to replace the dynamo. Safety was improved by moving the petrol tank to a more central and protected position under the rear seat, leaving more space for luggage in the front compartment. The new exterior lines kept the 500's wheelbase unchanged, but allowed for a little more space in the more refined interior. Overall, there has been greater attention to safety: apart from the new position of the fuel tank. An evolution, therefore, not a revolution, with the improved engine and more comfortable 4-speed gearbox. This beautiful example is Original, in very good condition. National origin. Certified as a Classic of Historic Interest by the ACP. Team Sunroof.*
