Description
The top product of the so-called “pontoon“ series from Mercedes-Benz was the 220 SE Cabriolet. At DM 23, 400, it was comparatively expensive at the time: a Mercedes 300 d (“Adenauer”) cost DM 22, 000 or a BMW 502 with a V8 engine (“Baroque Angel”) DM 21, 240. But the best craftsmanship and high-quality interior justified the luxury car price for the Cabriolet. Only 1, 942 units of the coupé and the convertible with the injection engine were built. Nowadays, the rarity of these vehicles on the classic car market is reflected in a stable price structure.
We sold our Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Cabriolet to the current owner around 10 years ago. The classic car is still in very good condition and has been driven regularly, but not much. You can set off on your next trip in it immediately.
