Registered new on 17th April 1962 this original UK supplied right hand drive example was dispatched by dealers Henlys Limited of London to its first owner a Mr Johnson who resided in Chelsea. Originally specified in Opalescent Maroon over a black interior the Jaguar was used as intended for some time with many invoices and documents relating to its history present in the file. The E-Type was later treated to an extensive restoration which was completed in 2011. The car was treated to extensive works with no stone left unturned, the engine and mechanicals were removed and rebuilt, and the body was dismantled and repaired where necessary before being completely resprayed. The interior was also extensively restored at this time including the black bucket seats and aluminium dashboard and now benefits from an upgraded radio system. More recently the E-Type has been maintained and serviced by Jaguar specialists Winspeed of Guildford with over £28, 000 spent since 2018! The extensive works that have been carried out make this a very nice example indeed. Presented in the superb colour combination of red coachwork over a black interior the paintwork retains a deep shine and only shows very minor age related blemishes, as too the interior and hood which are both in very good condition. The engine bay is also very clean and benefits from an upgraded stainless steel exhaust manifold and exhaust system. Pairing this with the recent engine rebuild to fast road specification along with the upgraded Winspeed brakes this really is a joy to drive and sounds fantastic!
Accompanying the car is a sizeable history file containing many sundry bills, the previous restoration invoices, photos of the restoration, previous ownership documents, recent invoices from Winspeed, many old Mot records, the current UK registration document, and a Mot with no advisories, valid until February 2026. Offered with its cherished registration number ’36 NOU’ this wonderful example has been maintained regardless of cost and is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
