Description
Looking resplendent in its Iris Blue coachwork - a rare colour - this example is in very good condition throughout and features a 5-speed gearbox, fitted in recent years. We understand that the car was originally exported to the USA and returned to the North of England in 1991. According to the file, it was extensively restored over an approximately nine year period from this time. It was then exported again in 2001, this time to Jersey, where it remained for around ten years before returning to the UK once more. With MOT to March 2026, the car remains in excellent condition with pretty much unmarked bodywork, good strong, clean underside and very well presented under-bonnet area and boot. It has the appeal of wire wheels, which are fitted with excellent matching tyres all round. The interior is very good indeed, and in recent years has had the seats re-upholstered with leather faces. The recently fitted 5-speed gearbox works well and transforms the car into a very usable vehicle, keeping up well with modern traffic. It starts easily and ticks over well, providing plenty of power with good oil pressure and no overheating. Brake, clutch, gearbox and back axle are all in good order. These coupés are very light and airy internally, and are a pleasure to drive – excellent for rallies. Paperwork includes an extensive history file, Heritage Certificates from 1989 and 1999, photographs of the restoration and V5C.
