The vehicle has also benefited from a recent respray, carried out by highly respected E-type specialists, and offers a collector an opportunity to acquire an early, sought after specification car that is ready to be used as intended.
Running from 1961-1968, the Etype series 1 stands as the most desired generation, with early FHC and OTS models with rare specification highly coveted. The 3. 8 litre XK I6 engine found in this particular vehicle, and used in the XK150 has gone down in Jaguar's heritage as one of the greatest power plants in its history, and with 265bhp viable on tap in the 60s, it’s very easy to understand why.
The vehicle was identified in the USA by a prominent collector / restorer in the UK as a prime candidate for import to the UK and to further improve being a very solid foundation for a partial restoration. The vehicle came to the country in 2018 and underwent a full respray. Unfortunately Covid meant the car was then put into storage and the current owner has had little opportunity to enjoy, hence the decision a few years later to pass the torch to a new custodian.
