REDUCED - WAS £149, 990 - NOW £134, 990 - SAVE £15, 000 - Middlehurst Road Race & Classic present this original 'Group A' ?race specification Toyota Corolla 1600 GT Twin Cam 2dr Touring Car, which competed in the European Touring Car Championship from 1986-1988 by Czech racing driver Anton?n (Tony) Charouz; including various World Touring Car Championship meetings. It has an incredibly substantial, period competition history having notably competed in the Spa 24 hours race twice, along with the RAC Tourist Trophy race at Silverstone, Nurburgring Groer Preis (Grand Prix/ F1 Support race), Donington '500' and 500km of Monza to name a select few. Numerous class wins and podiums were achieved during this time including a class win at the Donington 500 in 1988. After it competed in the ETCC/ WTCC, it was then campaigned by Charouz in various hill climb events until the early 1990's, when it was then kept by the family and displayed in their museum in the Kladno province (about 35km west of Prague) in the Czech Republic, until approx. 2014?when it was purchased directly out of the museum. The car remains extremely original due it having been kept in continuous ownership by Charouz himself from brand new in 1983?until 2014.? It is offered today for sale with the benefit of having had a full engine and gearbox refresh prior to its last race at the 2022 Silverstone Festival, when it was raced by 'Demon Tweeks' brothers Guy Minshaw &?Jason Minshaw.?
