A copy of the February 1966 invoice from Shelby American confirms that this GT350 was originally delivered to Ford Advanced Vehicles in Slough, United Kingdom. It left the factory finished in white and was specified with rear seats. According to a detailed report by historian Marc Rabineau, chassis SFM 6S947 was sold in 1967 through Inter-Sport of Paris, the official Shelby distributor for France, and was subsequently delivered to Marseille. The car remained in the city, with a new owner acquiring it in 1969 and keeping it until the mid-1980s, when it changed hands and moved to Lyon.
The 2019 Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) Registry records that the car resurfaced in France in 2006, repainted in blue. By then, it had only four French owners from new before being purchased by the Swiss Shelby specialist, Burgol Automobiles. It was later restored to its original white finish, now complemented by classic blue racing stripes. The black interior includes a dash-mounted Shelby tachometer, a steering wheel with a Shelby centre cap, and bucket seats fitted with Ray Brown lap belts. The Curated Collection acquired the car in Belgium in June 2014.
SAAC registrar Howard Pardee has verified the confidential Ford serial number located on the driver’s side wing, and the relevant documentation is available for review. The car has undergone mechanical modifications, including the replacement of the brake master cylinder with a dual-bowl system, the rear brake lines, and a rear axle that does not match factory specifications.
An icon of the road, an original GT350 is a rare sight in Europe. This example presents an exciting opportunity for enthusiasts looking to enjoy a legendary muscle car at events and on the open road.
