First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, the Jaguar E-Type revolutionized the automotive world with its innovative design, high performance, and relatively affordable price compared to its competitors. Designed by Malcolm Sayer, the E-Type drew inspiration from the aerodynamic lines of Jaguar’s racing cars, such as the Le Mans-winning D-Type.
The Series 1, produced from 1961 to 1968, is considered the purest and most iconic of all E-Type models. The 3. 8-litre FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) is the first version of the Series 1, powered by the legendary 3, 781 cc XK inline-six engine, capable of delivering 265 hp and reaching a top speed of over 240 km/ h (150 mph). Its performance, with 0-100 km/ h acceleration in just over 7 seconds, made the E-Type one of the fastest cars of its era.
The body design, with its long bonnet and sleek, tapered rear, was considered revolutionary and is still regarded today as one of the most beautiful car designs ever created. Even Enzo Ferrari famously described the E-Type as “the most beautiful car ever made.”
The FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) version offers an even more elegant line and greater structural rigidity compared to the Roadster. The combination of style, technical innovation, and performance has made the Jaguar E-Type a timeless icon and one of the most sought-after sports cars by enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

Presentata per la prima volta al Salone di Ginevra nel marzo del 1961, la Jaguar E-Type rivoluzionò il mondo dell’automobile grazie al suo design innovativo, alle prestazioni elevate e a un prezzo relativamente accessibile rispetto alle concorrenti. Progettata da Malcolm Sayer, l’E-Type fu ispirata dalle linee aerodinamiche delle vetture da competizione Jaguar, come la D-Type, vincitrice a Le Mans.
La Prima Serie, prodotta dal 1961 al 1968, è considerata la più pura e iconica delle E-Type. Il modello 3. 8 litri FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) è la prima versione della Serie 1, equipaggiata con il famoso motore sei cilindri in linea XK da 3781 cc, capace di erogare 265 CV e di spingere l’auto a una velocità massima di oltre 240 km/ h.
