We are very pleased to offer a car that I cannot stop driving as I just love it, a very original and very charming 1969 Morris 1300. If you are after a versatile, easy to drive and dare I say cool and stylish Classic car then you may have just found it. This matching numbers example has been in the same family since new, passed from father to son. It has only covered 41k in 56 years and no matter where I take it people just adore it and want to talk about it, these fantastic cars are seldom seen on the roads but yet most people have a connection with them and they are guaranteed to attract attention. This is also the very rare two door model. This 1300 is accompanied with an excellent history folder and has always been carefully maintained. It is has its all of its original handbooks, showroom brochure, passport to service book and a raft of receipts. Registered new by Charles Clarke in Wolverhampton in April 69 and still wearing both its original number plates from the supplying dealer.
On the road is where this car really shines. The driving experience is fantastic, the 1275 engine is super quiet and very smooth and the rod change gearbox is precise. The Hydrolastic suspension means it just rides over any road surface with absolute comfort and puts new cars to shame. Performance is brisk thanks to a very sweet 1275 engine and disc brakes up front means it stops very well indeed. Wherever you go you will smile as I do.
The interior is a real time warp and in many ways still looks and feels new. It is completely original inside including the carpets and roof liner. It has that wonderful sliding speedo, large steering wheel and stylish Motorola radio.
This Morris has a very solid shell with all four floor pans as they left the factory as is the boot floor and the engine bay is nicely detailed and correct. It has been protected underneath from the elements and does not show any evidence of previous repairs. The paintwork presents well, there are few blemishes here and there which are minor and in keeping with its age and unrestored condition. This is a fabulous looking car that is rarer than most exotica, a viable daily and it can also hold its head up high at any Classic Car event or just make you popular everywhere you go.
We have fully serviced, checked and driven this excellent Austin and it has a long MOT and a consistent MOT history, and is also MOT and Tax exempt so is ready to go.
