History of this car
According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on file, our example was manufactured in September 1978 finished in Grand Prix white (R4R4) with a black leather interior.
Our car was specified with optional equipment including front/ rear impact absorbers, sports seats, cooling system, sliding roof and the now uber cool black/ hatched Turbo scripting. Additionally, our car is equipped with a Porsche immobiliser system and features the single mirror of the early cars.
Delivered new on 18/ 10/ 1978 by Roger Clark Cars to the first UK owner. The next keeper – to this day – bought the Porsche on 18. 04. 1980 so 45 years with one owner.
Our car has a service book with 8 stamps plus a raft of invoices showing repair work over the years. Infrequently used in recent times the car could now use tyres, servicing and bodywork repairs, thus is sold on a project basis as an exciting blank canvas for the next owner to decide the future route; selectively improve and use or perhaps as the perfect basis for a nut and bolt restoration.

Bodywork
The body appears straight and accident free, with good panel fitment. The paint presents as an older repainting in the original delivery colour, with paint depth readings in the 150-500 micron range. There are a number of paint flaws and the body does have some areas of corrosion, so a strip and repaint is on the cards, at which time the superb Turbo graphics could be reinstated (library picture with an example of those shown, with thanks to Google images).
Mechanicals
Our example starts, drives and stops but is currently overdue servicing and tyre replacement. The engine is powerful and has good oil pressure but there are some oil leaks. The brakes were overhauled to the tune of £6500 a few thousand miles ago.
Interior
Original and well kept, very nice condition overall.
Summary
This collectable model very rarely comes up in project condition, and then never as a low mileage/ owner, highly optioned example such as this, with the service book and Porsche CofA.
