A very rare opportunity
Here is a very rare opportunity to get yourself a very nice Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. As we are beginning to see now, the price of Silver Shadows are going up partly due to the fact that there are not many left, especially in this condition. The accompanying paperwork is very informative and tells us that the Shadow was supplied new by H. P. Arnett & Sons of Bournemouth on 16/ 10/ 1968 to its first owner - it has only had 5 previous owners in total. The Rolls comes with a host of invoices and receipts over the years along with a selection of old MOTs, which sit very nicely with the current MOT to October 2025. This is very nice, as it doesn’t need one, but it gives you an insight as to how well it has been looked after, something you don’t see very often.
The majestic Rolls has its service book pack from new and within this is not one, but two service books with a total of 17 stamps between them. That is very impressive and definitely something you don’t see very often. To add to this, it comes with a complete set of workshop manuals, four of them, which we believe to be the full set, but please satisfy yourself that this is correct.
The colour combination is sensational, finished in its original colour of Regal red with parchment hide and beige Wilton carpets complete with lambswool over rugs and rear foot rests. This is finished off with the Chippendale dash and door cappings, which in itself is a very rare and desirable option to have and not many cars had this making this one of a few supplied, let alone how many may be left now. The chrome is also in superb condition and really complements the car in every way.
There is yet more information with the Rolls that tell us that the previous owner had it for 36 years and it has had very little use since 1990, hence the mileage showing. It has recently had a hydraulic system overhaul and a full service and recommissioning.
The best thing, maybe, is the registration number ‘TUS 26’. We believe it has been with the car for a number of years and it would be a shame for them to part. The value may be in the region of £4, 000 - £5, 000, but it is included. We are sure you will be as impressed with the Rolls as we are. One thing to remember is that if you tried to restore a Rolls-Royce to this standard, it would probably cost three times as much as it may to buy this one, just a thought…
