Founded by William Paddon of Hampton-in-Arden, Warwickshire, Hampton Motorcycles were originally located in Kings Norton, Worcestershire and were known for producing well-made side-valve machines with a single-cyclinder (power units made by T. D Cross in 1914) between 1912 and 1914 and produced a small range of machines in different ownership until the mid-1930s. Any are a rare machine to find today.
This 1912/ 4 Hampton Pioneer machine has been part of a collection of motorcycles for many years. Restored to a very high standard many years ago by a previous owner and still presenting well today, it is believed to have been used on some Pioneer Runs since completion. Purchased by the late owner for his collection and not used for many years, sadly, no documentation has been found for this machine and a V5C will have to be applied for through the V62 scheme, although it is still on DVLA records. Recommissioning will be required on this machine. To be sold without reserve.
