Description
How about this for summer value? This is a 1969 MGB Roadster finished in Red with a Black interior Piped Red, she has been totally restored and is showing 29k Miles on the clock. She has the Overdrive gearbox fitted! There are many options out there for the needs of the classic sports car driver, perhaps more exotic, opulent or even faster than the humble MGB, but the raw ingredients of fun with a degree of practicality and straightforward engineering is just a few of the cars enduring attributes. Since its first appearance in 1962, its advanced specification and disarmingly good looks have played their part in making the MGB the quintessential everyday sports classic car.
Finished in Red with the optional wire wheels, this restored 1969 Roadster is an older restoration which still presents beautifully. The car is totaly solid and has a fresh MOT with No Advisories! She started life as a US LHD car and was manufactured at the end of December 1969. She came back to the UK in 2006, since then she has been completely restored and converted to Right Hand Drive. She has only has 2 previous owners also.
Conceived in the late 1950s and launched in 1962, the MGB was mechanically similar to the preceding MGA, though with unitary-construction bodyshell. To compensate for the newcomers increased weight, the existing B-Series engine was stretched to 1, 798cc, and the MGB's aerodynamically efficient lines made the most of the 95bhp available to achieve a top speed which just bested the magic ton. A right first time design that changed little over the years apart from the adoption of a more robust five-main-bearing engine in 1965 (fitted from the start of GT production that autumn) a minor facelift for 1970 and the adoption of plastic bumpers (to comply with US legislation) for 1975, the MGB enjoyed an eighteen-year production life and sales totalling in excess of 500, 000 cars.
This little MGB drives beautifully and is ready for the summer as you can see in the photos. There are no restoration receipts unfortunately as the car came from a deceased estate. A cursory inpection will show you the time and money spent on this car, and we have priced her very competitively for a restored car. MGBs are wonderful little sports cars and make the perfect start or addition to any collection!
