This stunning, beautifully presenting and first class driving Austin Healey 3000 MKIIA has had very little use since a comprehensive, high quality restoration. Having been subject of a major restoration between 2020-2022, this highly desirable classic British sportscar has been stored as part of a Yorkshire based collection for several years. Considering the lack of use, it was surprising how little work was required before the car was able to be test driven. Upon changing the fuel filter and a short piece of fuel line to the carburettor, we were able to travel through the countryside of North Yorkshire and were delighted with how well this rebuilt Austin Healey performs.
During restoration, significant works carried out included a full top end engine rebuild, new carburettors, a full new stainless steel exhaust system, new steering box, the suspension was poly bushed. With the Big Healey mechanically reconditioned it was fully retrimmed and fitted with a new hood. The bodywork is exquisite, the panels are perfectly straight, the underside truly stunning with a body colour finish and the paint finish gleams, as does brightwork. The car is in the condition where it should receive plaudits at show level.
On the road this magnificent Big Healey lives up to every expectation. The engine is very fit holding impressive oil pressure, the synchromesh in the gearbox are strong, the overdrive comes in smoothly, and the braking and steering makes this car exceptionally agile, it does not disappoint with its impressive performance.
