With only 200 produced, the Subaru Impreza Catalunya was built by Prodrive to celebrate Richard Burns winning the Catalunya round of the previous year's World Rally Championship. ‘R855 EFA’ even comes with a letter of authentication from Subaru confirming it as the final car in this limited-edition run. ‘R855 EFA’ has been in current ownership for over six years and has been enjoyed by seven previous keepers before that. A fully restored car, ‘R855 EFA’ has reportedly benefitted from an engine rebuild and respray in current ownership. Confirmed as running “amazingly well,” ‘R855 EFA’ retains a good level of originality apart from a few well chosen mechanical upgrades. Offered here with plenty of accompanying paperwork and a spare set of refurbished alloy wheels, ‘R855 EFA’ doesn’t currently hold an MOT. It was last MOT’d in 2024, however. With this being the last of just 200 produced, this is clearly an exciting ownership prospect not to be missed.
‘R855 EFA’ is presented in gleaming black livery and exhibits the signature big front air dam, with integrated, large driving lamps and prominent boot spoiler. ‘R855 EFA’ is sporting an original set of 16-inch, five spoke alloy wheels finished in a gleaming gold hue. Paintwork and bodywork are adjudged to be in a “good” condition. The interior is finished in original black and red cloth trimmed special Catalunya seats and door cards. A numbered edition plaque and air conditioning are other special edition attributes. The interior condition is also rated as “good.”
‘R855 EFA’ is powered by the revered EJ20G, flat four turbocharged engine. A five speed 5MT manual transmission feeds power to a full time four wheel drive system with a viscous central limited slip differential. ‘R855 EFA’ has had an aftermarket air filter, exhaust and dump valve fitted and it has been professionally remapped. All mechanical facets of ‘R855 EFA’ are considered to be “good.”

This Car has been entered into Hampson Auctions, The Bolesworth classic and performance car and motorcycle auction, which will be held at Bolesworth Castle, Tattenhall, Chester, CH3 9JJ on Sunday 09th March 2025.
Viewing sessions will take place at Bolesworth castle from 9am - 7pm on Saturday 08th March and from 9am - 12:00 on Sunday 09th March, with the auction itself commencing at 12pm on Sunday 09th March, and you are very welcome to join us there.
