Registration – WPG 924M

‘WPG 924M’ is a fine exemplar of the ultimate iteration of the Series Land Rover in Series III guise. ‘WPG 924M’ is an 88” model powered by the erstwhile 2. 25-litre petrol engine and featuring the station wagon body configuration. ‘WPG 924M’ has had ten owners to date, which is significantly below average for its age, and is thought to have covered around 120, 000 miles – a mere trifle in Series III terms. The vendor reports ‘WPG 924M’ as “starting and driving really well.” ‘WPG 924M’ is now MOT exempt and zero rated for road tax, comes with many spare parts, and a reasonable level of accompanying paperwork. An excellent opportunity to acquire a nicely presented Series III ready for duty on or off road.
‘WPG 924M’ presents in that classic Series combination of Marine Blue and Limestone. The Birmabright, alloy body panels are reasonably straight and true in Land Rover terms with the usual rivet divots and minor dents noted. The front bumper is galvanised and is fitted with a tow hitch. The spare wheel and brand new tyre are bonnet mounted, giving ‘WPG 924M’ full farm ready credentials. The cab features new, black vinyl seats in the correct, three abreast configuration. Gauges, steering wheel and dash panels are all noted as original which is an increasingly rare case with Series Land Rovers. The rear cabin is full of parts currently. These are known to include Exmoor door cards, spare doors, spare lock barrels and other useful items. A new floor has been fitted here. Bodywork, paintwork and interior are all vendor rated as “average” with note being made of some rust on the rear tub.
‘WPG 924M’ has benefitted from plenty of mechanical attention, too. The brake shoes and brake cylinders have been replaced, a new fuel tank fitted and replacement axle oil seals fitted. The other fundamental Land Rover mechanicals are present such as the high / low transfer box and the selectable four wheel drive. Locking front hubs are also fitted. A parts manual, V5 and numerous old MOTs are included.
In summary:
· Nicely complete and original Series III 88” station wagon
· Complete with many valuable spare parts and accompanying paperwork
· Reported to start and run very well
