Highly desirable, with a sought-after combination of powertrain and specification, this example of Audi’s first-generation TT coupe is the range-topping 3. 2 Quattro model, and is offered at no reserve. Under the bonnet of the original TT sits Audi’s 3. 2-litre V6 engine, in ‘DG54 TZB’ powering all four wheels through - unusually - a six-speed manual gearbox. Presented in beautiful, deep Moro Blue, the TT also features Audi’s stylish seven-spoke alloys and twin exhausts, showcasing the performance potential to those in the know. Inside, the interior is trimmed tastefully in cream and black, with leather upholstery and silver detailing. Factory fitted equipment include electric windows and door mirrors, Bose sound system, and heated seats.
A cherished model over the course of more than 20 years on the road, ‘DG54 TZB’ has benefitted from recent work, including a full engine rebuild within the last 2, 000 miles, as well as a new clutch, new bearings and piston rings, as well as a re-machined cylinder head and rebuilt ECU. The vendor describes ‘DG54 TZB’ as a ‘lovely example’ and this TT coupe is offered with comprehensive owners book back, and paperwork including invoices and MOTs. Rated well overall, the TT is considered to be in ‘average’ condition in terms of bodywork, paint, and interior, while the engine, transmission, and electrics are described as ‘good’. Displaying an indicated 151, 000 miles, but with large amounts of work already carried out, this example of Audi’s near-classic TT is one to watch at no reserve.
· Superb specification for desirable MkI TT
· Flagship V6 Quattro model
· Offered at no reserve
The distinctively-shaped TT was penned by J Mays and Freeman Thomas and first seen in concept form at the 1995 Frankfurt Salon. Production commenced in 1998 and continued until the end of 2023, in third generation form. The TT takes its name from the incomparable TT motorcycle race in the Isle of Man that was successfully contested in period by NSU, one of the German marques that merged to create what is now known as Audi AG. The first-generation car was manufactured between 1998 and 2006, initially just in coupe form but ultimately as a roadster as well. The engine options were a turbocharged 1. 8-litre straight four or 3. 2-litre V6. Drive was from the front or all four wheels, as per the sale car.
