Description
This is a truly unrepeatable find and surely one of the most original, lowest mileage MG 1100’s to survive. ALE 425B has covered less than 12500 miles from new and had just one owner for over 50 years. Our matching numbers MG was supplied new on the 11th April 1964 by University Motors Ltd on Hertford Street, London W1 to its Wembley based long term owner.
Having been used sparingly during its early life, in 1978 the MG was placed in storage where it remained until 2016. Preserved and still with the car today is the original Passport to service book, various manuals, books and old V5. Supplied new as it presents today in Black with lovely Red leather upholstery, the MG was treated to a bare metal re-paint once out of storage, and a major re-commissioning program that included extensive engine bay work.
In recent years the MG has had very little, but careful use similar to is early life. ALE 425B is a delight on the road, the engine is strong and very spritely, the gearbox is lovely, and the steering and suspension are very responsive. The car has all the quality characteristics of what you would want to experience from a sporty saloon car. It is comprehensively charming, fabulously fun, and would make for a fantastic addition to any car collection.
ALE 425B has that time warp feel, whilst the exterior paintwork, bodywork and engine bay are finished to an incredibly high standard, the super original, low mileage interior is unrepeatable with so much patina. The original underside is structurally outstanding, the brightwork is all of a lovely standard and without doubt this has to be one of the finest MG 1100's we've had the pleasure of owning.
