EXTERIOR
This has to be the cleanest, most original E30 M3 we’ve ever had the pleasure of selling here at 4 Star. Beautifully finished in sublime Zinnoberrot – the deepest of the M3 reds – the rich paintwork remains in simply stunning condition all round. Even on close inspection there are very few blemishes to report, the only real imperfections being some carefully touched-in chips as the front end. The remainder of the body is factory-fresh with perfect panel gaps, pristine rubber trims, immaculate badging, and absolutely no corrosion in any of the common E30 weak spots. The 16-inch alloy wheels are also spotless. All in all, a true collector’s piece, ready to show.

INTERIOR
Open the door and you’re still greeted by that new car smell. Original interiors of this age and in this condition do not come around often. The bolsters show no signs of any wear, the light cloth upholstery almost as new throughout. There are no cracks on the dash, the switchgear is unmarked, and everything works just as it should. Commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob retain a lovely original finish, and the carpets are still protected in the footwells by the original BMW overmats. The boot area is extremely clean and retains the complete toolkit and alloy spare wheel.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The E30 M3’s S14 engine was designed for racing applications and was, therefore, compact and high-revving. Special features included individual throttle plates for each cylinder, machined intake and exhaust ports, and a crankshaft with eight counterweights. The engine bay of this example – an EU-spec non-cat 200ps car – is exceptionally clean throughout, it looks like new.
Reading through the accompanying history file it’s clear that this one has always been maintained to the highest standard and, aside from one service carried out in 2000 by an independent specialist, it has always been serviced within the BMW main dealer network. Out on the road it’s as tight as a drum to drive; the engine is as smooth as ever and the dogleg ‘box is a joy to operate.
HISTORY FILE
This surely unrepeatable example in rare Zinnoberrot was first registered in June 1989. An EU-spec non-cat car, it was originally supplied in Munich, Germany, and has now driven only 75, 245 miles (121, 095km) from new. It was imported into the UK in 1999 and aside from one service carried out by a specialist in 2000 the car has, quite amazingly, only ever been serviced within the BMW main dealer network (including in Germany). The last service was carried out at Vertu Yeovil in October 2023 just 80 miles ago.
Within the History File the lucky new owner will be receive the complete and original BMW document wallet with all owner’s manuals, exactly as it was supplied to the first keeper. The original service booklet is on hand and is stamped up to date with the entries detailed below. Every UK MOT certificate is present, further verifying the car’s low mileage, the remainder of the paperwork comprising a thick raft of BMW invoices meticulously detailing all the work that has been carried out since its arrival in the UK.
