The 1980’s produced a whole host of uber-cool hot hatches, and when Peugeot combined their legendary GTi with a dash of Pininfarina magic, the CTi cabriolet was born.
They may have chopped the roof off, but with the same running gear and 115 bhp 1. 6 litre under the bonnet, the drop-top is just as fun to drive and its illustrious brother.
This 1987 model Phase 1 example was first registered in November 1986, delivered in Cherry red with a black hood and 14 inch Speedline ‘Pepperpot’ alloy wheels.
The interior follows the same theme; black with red highlights. The original seats, front and rear, have been upgraded from the standard cloth to black leather with ‘Quadra’ pattern (red and black tartan) inserts.
The Philips radio/ cassette appears to be the original and there’s even a brochure from back in the day.
Documentation supports a history of regular servicing and general maintenance throughout the years, with a selection of invoices and receipts including paperwork for a new clutch, cambelt and water pump purchased within the last 1, 000 miles or so.
The last 18+ years of MOT history shows few advisories and a gentle increase of mileage (approximately 1, 000 per year).
Although not our normal stock, we just loved this uber cool little French drop top, and feel it deserves to find an appreciative new home.
