Description
Magnificent Ferrari 308 GTS from November 1978. GTS stands for Gran Turismo Spider, and convertible driving occupies a special place in the hearts of many Ferrari enthusiasts. When not in use, the removable rigid 'Targa' roof can be stowed behind the seats, and the chassis has been specially strengthened to compensate for the lack of a roof, while performance is similar to that of the 308 GTB. Powered by a 2927cc V8 engine developing 255bhp and fed by 4 x 40 Weber carburettors and a 5-speed manual gearbox (grid), this car originated in California and was imported into Europe in 1990. It was owned by a German automotive professional (Ferrari specialist) who fully restored it (bodywork with new paintwork, magnificent full red upholstery, etc.) The current owner acquired it from this professional in April 2012 and, like his predecessor, has taken great care of it as an enlightened enthusiast and member of a Ferrari amicale. There have only been 2 owners between 1990 and the present day, and the car has a collector's registration certificate with a clean MOT valid until April 2029. The distribution was carried out in 2024 (invoice); there is no service book but the history is available since 1990 (date of importation). 884 examples were produced, it has several options including the large front spoiler, a stainless steel sports exhaust and 328 wheels (7/ 16 _ 8/ 16). The original US odometer has been replaced by a European one, which now reads 19550 km.
An expert's report is available, dated July 2024 and showing no signs of impact or corrosion. All the bodywork is perfectly adjusted and the car is valued at 90, 000 euros. This car represents a great opportunity and is very rare to find in this condition with its magnificent red upholstery. Only available in Alsace to serious enthusiasts.
