Sapphire blue Tr6 Due to a need for space, I am parting with one of my Tr6 PI injection cars (from 1971). The vehicle has been completely dismantled for a restoration in concours condition. The chassis has been stripped bare, treated and painted in epoxy.
All the accessories, supports and the smallest metal part of the car were, without exception, sandblasted, treated and epoxy oven-painted. All the reassembled cycle parts were new (as were the brakes, shock absorbers, etc.). The body was sandblasted, treated and epoxy oven-painted, also as an undercoat for optimum protection before being coated and then painted in the original colour (Saphir Blue). This restoration technique eliminates the possibility of corrosion and the need to apply gravel under the body, rocker panels and wheel arches. The body has been refastened to the chassis. The chromes (front and rear bumpers, headlight covers) are brand new and come from Portugal. The electrics still need to be fitted, but are in good condition.
Engine rebuilt for safety (segmentation, cylinder de-icing and lower engine bearings changed). Gearbox overhauled, overdrive completely rebuilt. Injection intake completely blasted and treated, then reassembled by a specialist. Radiator rebuilt as new with high-efficiency wiring harness (MC Cord type). Transmitter, receiver, reinforced clutch and release bearing are new. The same goes for the brakes, mastervac, rear brake pads, new rear brakes. The front brakes and calipers are original but completely rebuilt. Ditto for the bearings, all the steering blocks and suspension arms. The brake and fuel circuits are as new as they were originally. I have all the interior door, side and rear trim (black) as new. The carpets are in Tan colour (my personal choice), the dashboard wood is new, all the meters and accessories are present. The metal dashboard support is epoxy painted. The Than colour seats need to be redone (preferably in black). All the lights, door handles, fittings and windows are present, and the front windscreen is mounted on the satin black painted frame, as it was originally. The joint between the windscreen and the body is new. I have the soft top in good condition, a new soft top would be a shame given the condition of this vehicle. I have a normal registration (original French vehicle), the transaction is in order, it's a car that hasn't been driven since 2000, very healthy (no rust), but repainted in yellow, which was obviously not its original colour. I am the 3rd owner and the car is more than 90% complete. Only the details remain to be supplied (for example, window seals, door seals, etc., I have the old seals but the car does not deserve this). Intended for an enthusiast who wants to get a TR6 back on the road in exceptional condition. It is clear that the advertised price in no way reflects what has been paid to date, so while I will be happy to discuss with enthusiasts interested in pursuing this adventure, buyers type "Ténardiers" will get nothing from me in return.
