This numbers matching 1972 convertible came to the UK about 7 years ago with a mileage of 92K and has hardly been used since arriving. It's had 2 owners in that time and we know them both. The car has been dry stored throughout with just the odd trip to a show.
OPTIONS - Now this is where it really gets good. This number matching 1972 C3 convertible has the ultimate factory option list. How about the factory #C50 rear window demister system, all still intact with all it's ducting plus the correct vent in the rear deck lid, then we have all the factory A/ C system still in place, quite rare on a drop-head, then of course we have p/ windows, p/ steering, p/ brakes plus tilt/ tele, quite a list!
THE GOOD - To be honest it's nearly all good. The car is a first time starter, running and driving fine. Overall it presents well although in the right light you could find some fine micro blistering here & there. The front bumper & the expensive front grills are all really excellent whilst the rear bumper chrome I'd say is 8 out of 10. The exhaust is good and has the correct oblong tail outlets. The engine has lots of nice bits, ali-valve covers, Comp-Cam, Edelbrock inlet, Headman headers, Mallory etc. The brakes are very recent, new calipers, rotors, flexis etc all round. Under the car is solid with no past welding and none required.
INTERIOR/ SOFT TOP - I believe the car had a full interior before it came over, seats, carpets front & rear, door cards, consoles, weatherseals, rear compartments, even the dash top - all remain in really top condition. The soft-top along with it's expensive rubbers looks like it was fitted even more recently, just superb, plus it fits well.
INSTRUMENTS - An absolute fortune has been spent professionally fitting Intellitronix blue digital gauges throughout. All are working perfectly and the manufacturers paperwork is with the car.
THE BAD - The car has a leak or fault somewhere on the headlight/ deck lid vacuum system. The lights lifted when we got the car but along with the wiper deck lid, they now don't lift without a manual help up. It's a case of tracing the vacuum system and fixing the fault. The park brake is beyond useless although I'm assured it's all been replaced. But that's about it, there really is nothing else we know of worth mentioning.
FINALLY - This is a C3 that really needs checking through due to lack of recent use, but other than the vacuum problem I doubt you'll find much else to give concern. It's obviously had a fortune already spent on it and it must be the ultimate opportunity for some-one out there. You are more than welcome to view the car whilst the auction is running, stay as long as you like, we'll even provide the trolley jacks & coffee. C3 convertibles are now in the £30K to £40K and this one is number matching with the ultimate option list and an awful lot going for it.
