The current custodian of this late manufacture 12/ 4 engined Lynx has owned the car since 1999, having acquired it from Barrie Gillies. There is an extremely comprehensive invoice file outlining all works carried out on the Riley over the past 45 years.
ETT 470 had a bodily rebuild in the 1980s and a pictorial record is included in the file. It has been used extensively since then and this Riley, having been driven to events too numerous to mention, is now weatherworn and suitable for driving and improving.
Mechanically the Riley drives very well and has been in constant use. It has the 4 branch manifold, twin SU's and preselecta gear box and will cruise at 55 to 60 mph without drama. The gearbox has been rebuilt by Tom Dark (2017) with needle roller bearings; Tom being a renowned gearbox specialist.
Included in the paperwork is a VSCC buff form and two old RF60 log books, including details from the day after delivery as being taxed by Ralph Taylor from North Devon.
In addition, there are also pictures of Flying Officer WWE Clarke who owned the car from the 1940/ 41 period in front of a Bomber and details from 1941 in the RF60 of petroleum allowance for the RAF Southern Division. Fascinating..... pictures attached.
Available now to use and improve. POA.
