Developed by the co-operation between BMC and John Cooper, the model was offered from 1963 as a high-performance version of the Mini Cooper. Thanks to its light weight and powerful engine, the Mini Cooper S quickly established itself as a serious competitor in motorsport - with overall victories at the 1964, 1965 and 1967 Monte Carlo Rally, among others. 4, 030 examples of the first series (Mark I) of the Mini Cooper S were produced in three different performance levels. According to the Heritage Certificate presented here, the Austin Mini presented here was delivered in Düsseldorf on 12 June 1964. A few years ago, the car was fully restored by Britec Motorsport and prepared as a rally car in accordance with FIA Appendix K. At the customer's request, the car was converted to right-hand drive, but can be easily converted back to LHD at any time. Thanks to its road licence, the Mini Cooper S can be used both in everyday life and at historic motorsport events. The combination of low weight, agile chassis and powerful engine makes it the perfect choice for classic rallies or historic racing events.
