The unmistakable Talbot Sunbeam Lotus...
Finished in Moonstone Metallic unmarked paintwork. We understand some years ago that the paintwork was professionally flatted and relaquered due to some minor lacquer imperfections, the distinctive black Lotus stripes were also replaced at this time to avoid any hard lacquer edges. All original panels are perfectly straight, totally rust-free and gaps as per it left the factory, this outstanding example has not been restored.
All original lights are in exceptional order with uniform colour and silky polished finish, the original Marchal Auxiliary Driving Lamps are again in perfect order. Original supplying dealer number plates, unmarked bumpers and overriders, all original decals, all original bronze tint SICURSIV Climaglass.

Wheels, Tyres & Brakes
Wheels - The original 'double four-spoke' cast alloy wide rim wheels have been professionally refurbished and fitted with excellent 185/ 70 R13 Uniroyal Rallye 340/ 70 tyres.
Brakes - Hydraulic, dual circuit, servo assisted system, 241mm front discs and 203mm rear drums.
Suspension - Front, fully independent coil springs with hydraulic telescopic struts and larger anti-roll bar. Rear, Four links and coil springs with telescopic shock absorbers mounted behind axle.
Engine & Transmission
Lotus engine specially developed for Talbot...
Fitted with a 2. 2-litre Lotus twin-cam 16 valve with two Dellorto DHLA 45E twin choke carburettors, 153bhp at 5400 rpm mated to a dog-leg five-speed ZF gearbox, capable of 0-60mph in 7. 5 and a top speed of 123 mph.
The detailed all original engine bay displays many of the factory fitted Talbot Sunbeam Lotus stickers, plaques and decals.
Summary
Sunbeam Lotus - Outright winner of the 1980 Lombard RAC Rally, noted as being the world's toughest international rally.
Only 2308 examples of the Sunbeam-Lotus 'homologation specials’ were ever built with 1184 of these in right-hand drive for the UK. However, today you'd be lucky to find 80 of these special cars according to the Owners' Club.
Here we have an outstanding original example of one of the most exciting hot hatches to emerge from the late 1970s, and we have motorsport to thank for that.
Registered new by official Talbot Dealers Pinner Motor Co (1981) Ltd, Uxbridge Road, Hatch End Middlesex on 16th July 1982 and remarkably still registered to its first owner.
The history file is packed with a wealth of documentation, including many original servicing invoices the first being the running in service by Talbot official dealers Brookside Garages, Wellingborough, Northants, dated 27th July 1982 at 1317 miles, past MOT certificates including the first dated June 14th 1985 at 19, 028 miles, original Sunbeam Lotus document wallet with owners handbook, stamped service record, original sales brochure, warranty card, Talbot dealer directory, Sunbeam-Lotus supplement owners handbook, original keys, Talbot CertiCarte etc...
Incredibly only 1 documented owner; This is an extremely rare and desirable Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. Very low documented mileage, one owner examples such as this are a rare find, and this is one is certainly not to be missed.
A major Lotus specialist service including cambelt and 12 month MOT will be completed upon sale and of course this Sunbeam Lotus is HPI clear with a certificate included.
