This beautiful Riley is a delight to drive and is only reluctantly available owing to the current owner's ill health.
Ray Duly (a former owner) had raced it for several years and to this end had the engine rebuilt by the renowned CMC of Bridgnorth.
The car was constructed by Barrie Gillies as a perfect copy of the team car ADU 28, owned since 1961 and then by his son, Mark.
The "works" registration was issued to this perfect chassis in the the 1970s and the car was completed in 1984. The body was built by Mike Stubbings. Coincidentally, he had ADU 28 and ADU 29 in his workshops at the same time!
During the current ownership, ADU 27 has toured France with three trips to Le Mans Classic, Ireland and Jersey, all without incident.
The current owner has had a great deal of fun with the Riley and hopes the next custodian will too. He is loathe to part with it but increasing infirmity (of the owner!) dictates.
Available for £61, 500.
