A 1999 Cowley-built car featuring all the high-specification refinements from before 'Project Drive'. 'Project Drive' was a cost-cutting initiative introduced by MG Rover in 2000 to reduce production expenses. As a result, later models had fewer features, with numerous high-quality materials replaced by cheaper alternatives, including, soundproofing removed, chrome badges swapped for stickers, and interior trim simplified, among many other changes. This makes this 1999 model a more desirable and better-equipped example.
She comes with a comprehensive history file, including dozens of receipts and every MOT certificate since new. It also includes a 1999 Rover brochure pack detailing specifications, optional extras, and pricing, along with the original Rover owner's manual, service history book, etc
This Rover 75 rolled off the Cowley production line on 12th May, 1999, as a "Dealer Launch" specification car and was displayed by a Rover Main Dealer to showcase the then-new model. It was registered to its first owner on 10th April, 2000.
The Dealer Launch cars were officially "Connoisseur" spec but were equipped with many of the "Connoisseur SE" standard features, along with additional optional equipment. This particular car comes with:
