Ford Escort MK1 2 Door fitted with a 2. 0 Pinto and 5 speed gearbox. This car was sourced by us and offered as a prize on the Giveaway guys website recently but the winner opted for the cash option and we bought it back. The car starts runs and drives spot on and has had fortunes spent on it over the years. Its a very good shell and is a UK car. There are a few old MOTs and receipts with the car. The photos dont do the car justice. It really is one of the prettiest ones Ive seen for a while and we look at a lot of Escorts.
Body - Escort Mk1 2 Door shell. Appears to have had all the same strengthening as a Type 49 shell added including the tramp bar brackets. The shell is superb underneath and completely solid only ever having had two very minor repairs. The paintwork is superb and the panels fit really well and the gaps are good. No rust bubbles or rust anywhere. Mexico stripes fitted by last owner. Easy removed if they are not for you.
Mechanics - 2. 1 Jem Pinto with uprated cam, vernier pulley, big valve head. Rs sump and mounts, 45 Webers, Tony Law exhaust manifold coupled to a full stainless steel system. Electronic Ignition, Twin Cam Anti Roll Bar, Coilovers on Front, Vented Discs, cossy rear discs, AVO rear shocks, Single leaf rear springs, LSD, Airtec Radiator, Electric Van.
Interior - 6 dial twin cam 140 mph dash which all works perfectly. Suede deep dish steering wheel. Period front contour bucket seats with retrimmed matching rear seats. New door cards, carpet and headlining. Very very tidy car inside and everything works.
Wheels - 6" JBW 4 Spokes with nearly new Toyo tyres
This has to be one of the cleanest Escorts Ive seen for a while. Its properly put together, drives nicely and everything works. its a real credit to the local chap who built and the subsequent owners who have really looked after it.
