Description

- 1 of only 170 DB5 LHD Coupés built - "Matching-Number" - Extensive complete restoration - Very well documented - Desirable collector's item Description: Not least due to its iconic association with James Bond, the Aston Martin DB5 is undoubtedly one of the most famous classic sports coupés in automotive history. As the direct successor to the DB4, it was produced from 1963 and set new standards in design, performance and exclusivity. This early example from 1963 is one of the rare left-hand drive models that were produced especially for the export market. Of the 1, 059 DB5 Coupés built between 1963 and 1965, only around 170 vehicles were produced in this configuration - often only at the customer's request - which makes the car a particularly sought-after collector's item. According to the Aston Martin Built sheet presented here, the DB5 Coupé was delivered to Correze in France on 15 November 1963. A letter from the first owner about the purchase and his experiences with the car round off the impressive documentation. In 1968, the car found its way to its second owner in New York, later to Hollywood, and finally to Germany in 1991, where it still resides today. Under the direction of the first German owner, the DB5 underwent an extensive restoration by renowned companies. The installed engine is "matching-number" and was completely overhauled by the company "Roos" in Switzerland according to the available restoration report and invoices. A total of over €200, 000 was spent on the restoration process. A rare left-hand drive example that has been completely restored with the utmost care. In perfect condition and with complete documentation, this DB 5 Coupé embodies the essence of timeless automotive art. Engine: 4. 0-litre in-line six-cylinder, approx. 286 hp, ZF 5-speed manual gearbox - 1 of only 170 DB5 LHD Coupé built - "Matching-Number" - Extensively restored - Impressive documentation - A real collector`s item Description: Not least because of its iconic association with James Bond, the Aston Martin DB5 is undoubtedly one of the most famous classic sports coupés in automotive history.
