Displaying nice period features
Triumph’s renowned 3½hp Model C debuted in 1907 with a 453cc side-valve engine. 1908 saw the engine size increased to 476cc and then to 499cc in 1910. By 1914, it was replaced by the 4hp (550cc) model. During its production, the 1914 range included three other types: a couple of the aforementioned 4hp (550cc) models and a 3½hp (499cc) TT model, the main differences being the type of transmission used.
This Edwardian era Triumph comes to auction from a deceased estate following many years of long-term ownership. Little is known about the history of this machine except to say that today it presents as a near-complete project for someone else to work on and enjoy, especially as it displays some nice features of this period of motorcycling. The engine number on the block is 64113. Unfortunately, we don't expect there to be any paperwork present, however, frame number TR3438 is visible on the machine.
