Background:
The Rolls-Royce 20/ 25 is the second of Rolls-Royce Limited's interwar entry-level models. Built between 1929 and 1936 it was very popular, becoming the best-selling interwar Rolls-Royce. Its success enabled Rolls-Royce to survive the Great Depression and remain one of the world's great brands. A total of 3, 827 20/ 25s were produced, and more than 70% of these survive in use.
The Car:
This fantastic project is a perfect blank canvas to either build a period-correct car or create a special. The fact that it has a current V5 makes it all the more enticing. The chassis number GEX27 indicates that this was originally a saloon by Lancefield when it was built in 1933. Sadly, this machine has since lost its body and is presented here largely complete otherwise.
The car was mid-restoration when the body was unfortunately stolen around six years ago. The engine turns over and was running in the last few years. Unfortunately, since then, the engine has lost several of its ancillaries, such as the magneto and dynamo. The chassis is in good order and the transmission, rear axle and steering system appear to be complete.
This represents a great project, with a V5C in the current owner's name and a registration that appears to be transferable.
