HISTORY The Honda CR-X (in some markets as the Honda CRX), originally launched as the Honda Ballade Sports CR-X in Japan, is a compact front-wheel-drive sports car produced by Honda from 1983 to 1991, with nearly 400, 000 units produced during this period. The first generation CRX was marketed in some regions outside Japan as the Honda Civic CRX. Although there are many assumed definitions for the abbreviation CR-X, the most accepted is 'Civic Renaissance Experimental'.
In the United States, the CRX was marketed as an economy sports car with room for two passengers, while Japanese and European cars had a 2+2 seating arrangement. Redesigned for the 1988 model year and produced until 1991, the CRX was popular for its performance, agile handling and good fuel economy, all while hitting the 100 hp per cubic litre barrier. The CR-X was replaced by Honda's CR-X del Sol, marketed as the CR-X in some markets.
OUR CAR Delivered new in 1991 in Athens, Greece, with the characteristic Honda red colour and black leather interior. Impeccably maintained by its sole owner with frequent service intervals, during the recent annual service the car had its cam cover repainted and new seals fitted. This beautiful second generation CRX has also benefited from the dry and warm climate of Greece, showing no rust or corrosion, nor cracks in the centre console dashboard and plastic trim. In 2023 the body was repainted in its original colour, the original interior, parcel shelf and original wheels complete the car's condition. With 160, 000 km under its belt, our Crx is an extremely rare find in its current condition. Combining a high-revving v-tec engine with a weight of less than 900 kg, it is the perfect combination for driving pleasure.
