Description
This stunning 1987 Ferrari was completed on September 19, 1987, and finished shortly thereafter in the iconic Rosso Corsa 300/ 6 with a beige 4218 leather interior and Bordeaux carpets. It was also optioned with air conditioning for added comfort. Upon completion, the car was delivered to the renowned Belgian concessionaire, Garage Francorchamps, where it was first registered on October 17, 1986, to Mr. Philippe Lancksweert of Brussels, a business partner of Jacques Swaters at the dealership.
The car passed through the hands of two subsequent owners in the Netherlands before being purchased by Mr. S, who was working there at the time. Mr. S then brought the car to the UK, where it was first registered on July 1, 2010. At this point, the original KMH speedometer (showing 117, 000 kms / 75, 000 miles) was replaced with a MPH unit, which is still retained with the car.
The current owner, Mr. H S of Kent, purchased the car on August 22, 2022. Upon acquisition, the car was immediately sent to Rardley Motors for a thorough inspection and service. A leak-down test confirmed that the engine was in excellent condition. During the service, the valve clearances were checked and adjusted, new camshaft oil seals and camshaft drive belts were replaced, and coolant hoses showing signs of age were swapped out. The total for this service was just under £8, 500, completed in October 2022.
In June 2023, the car returned to Rardley Motors for bodywork and paint refinishing, along with a refurbishment of the road wheels at a cost of £4, 000. Later that year, an additional £8, 255 was spent on replacing the exhaust, installing new fuel pipes, replacing engine mounts, rebushing the suspension, overhauling the shock absorbers, fitting new brake pads and hoses, replacing front brake discs, and servicing the air conditioning.
In August 2023, the car underwent further maintenance, with a new clutch and flywheel installed after a rear main oil seal failure contaminated the clutch, costing £4, 385. Most recently, in August 2024, four Michelin Pilot Sport tires were fitted to ensure the car performs at its best.
With all of this care and attention to detail, this Ferrari is in superb condition and ready for its next owner to enjoy.
