Summary
Finished in Meridien Silver with contrasting Black soft ruffled leather, it’s the very desirable 6 speed manual gearbox and non-sunroof coupe. This 996 has clearly been well maintained with service book stamps and invoices from both main dealers & marque specialists. Importantly the IMS bearing (a common issue with 996s) has been replaced with an uprated unit along with a new clutch in 2016. On the road, the 911 drives superbly, with slick gear changes and a fabulous exhaust note from the 3. 4 engine.
The 996 C2 Manual is fantastic car to drive; light, nimble, powerful & manageable - they are equally happy as a daily driver or a modern classic for high days & holidays. The interesting slant on the 996 is the values, whilst classic car prices in general softened off last year these seemed to buck the trend and have seen a steady rise in popularity as well as value, with the gap between 996 & 997 prices narrowing. Their reputation as superb drivers cars continues to grow, and we see values continuing to rise.
This super example passed its MOT in July 2024, with advisories having been addressed, and the vendor has offered to test early this year to complete the sale with 12 months MOT. Last full service was carried out circa 3, 000 miles ago, with an mechanical inspection and minor works carried out last year.
