EQUIPMENT
Rosso Alfa (501) paintwork, Nero upholstery, Original 1600cc engine, Twin Webber carbs, Air-intake trumpets, 14-inch steel wheels, Nardi Torino steering wheel, DAB/ Bluetooth stereo, Alfa Romeo rubber overmats, Eibach lowering springs, Front and rear seatbelts, De-bumpered, Glove box, English sales brochure, Original owners manual, Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin.
EXTERIOR
Beautifully presented in its original Rosso Alfa colour, this Giulia is true to its classic Italian style. The paintwork is in very good order throughout with a deep shine and there are no faded areas to report. On closer inspection, the brightwork is in excellent condition with no corrosion or pitting to be found. This example is a later ‘Nuova’ model which has been professionally back-dated with a Ti Super grille, and de-bumpered for a more aggressive appearance. Equipped with a set of Eibach lowering springs (30mm), the car not only handles superbly but also sits with a more assertive stance. In 2022, the underside and cavities were treated with clear wax protection. All in all, a very tasteful example that is ready to be driven and enjoyed in style.
INTERIOR
The elegantly appointed interior really is a special place to be. A three-spoke Nardi Torino steering wheel, chromed ashtray, driver-focused gauges, wood trim panels, and the timeless 'Giulia' script adorn the dashboard. The only non-original item is a discreet Bluetooth head unit with a classic style but modern convenience. The carpets are protected in the footwells by the correct Alfa Romeo rubber overmats. All the switchgear feels solid to operate and there is no sun damage to be found on the dash-top or gauges. The wood trim is free from cracks and the Nero seat upholstery is original and in fine fettle throughout.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The matching numbers 1. 6-litre twin-cam engine delivers a punchy 116hp through a 5-speed gearbox and feels surprisingly swift for a vehicle of its vintage. Equipped with twin Webber carbs and a set of intake trumpets, the sound is intoxicating to say the least with a raspy, growling induction note that is rather addictive. On the road the engine feels strong, while the gearbox is smooth to operate throughout the rev range. In 2019, a new exhaust was fitted along with brake calipers. The carbs were cleaned in 2022, and most recently in 2024, an oil service, brake fluid, gearbox and clutch fluid change have been carried out.
HISTORY FILE
This exceptional Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1600 was produced in 1974. The ACI record states the car arrived in Italy from Germany at Chiasso Customs 20/ 03/ 76 and was sold to its first Italian owner on the Calabria coast. In 1995, it was purchased by the second owner in Lucca, Tuscany. He owned the car until 2014, when it was sold to its third owner who also resided in Lucca.
In 2017, the Giulia returned to Germany when it was imported by Lola Motor Cars GMBH and supplied to its fourth owner. Finally, in August 2024, it arrived in UK. It is now fully registered, all taxes paid with a V5 document and a UK reg number (classic black/ silver plates fitted).
Within the history file you will find an original sales brochure (English), Italian owners manual, documents relating to the car’s origin and previous keepers, various invoices for work carried out, customs documents, and importantly, the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Origin confirming the chassis number, model, date of production, colour, and interior spec. There is also confirmation of the engine number from the Alfa Romeo historical museum.
