Description
West Coast Classics are proud to present an excellent and always garaged and rust free example of this early 1955 Ford Thunderbird with factory specifications and options including; 'Ford-o-matic' automatic transmission, Telescopic steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, fender skirts, tach, clock, power 4-way driver seat, heater and defroster, AM radio and it's original 292 V8 4V engine and with highly desirable and striking Thunderbird chrome wheels!
One of the earliest collectibles amongst post-war cars, the two seater Thunderbirds of 1955-57 have if anything only gained in popularity as the years have passed which inspired the tribute models built between the years 2002-05. They were originally a sales triumph over Chevrolet's Corvette with clean styling, creature comforts and of course V8 refinement.
This particular example boats it's original factory 'Raven Black' (color code A) color paint with matching original 'Black & White' (with the early trim code A) interior with the engine having been dressed and detailed. The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are solid and rust-free and the car has a very straight body - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new. The car has it's original factory matching color hard top and its original 292 4V V8 engine. The original factory soft top frame and canvas are present on the car and operational but please note that the original canvas soft top has some tears and will need replacing.
This particular car drives very well - must be driven to be fully appreciated - does not miss a beat and purrs like a kitten - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day sports car a run for it's money! The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears and the car has four relatively new radial wide white wall tires.
This is one very fine 1955 Thunderbird with the 292 4BBL V8 engine and loaded with power front disc brakes, power steering, power seat, AM radio, skirts, heater & defroster and two tops in the most striking and desirable of original factory color combinations! A super striking example which is simply a great daily driving and turn-key ready example of one of the very finest of 1950's classic American cars for any classic American car collector!
