"Regretfully selling my 1975 Triumph Stag - Manual with O/ D
Triumph V8 engine with no mods apart from electronic ignition as far as I know
I have had the car since May 2021 and it has been a joy to own and drive. The previous owner had the vehicle for 22 years and spent a lot of money on it. I have all of the receipts going back to 1989
The car is kept covered in a garage and has only been dry driven since I had it. The soft top is in excellent condition with no tears or marks. There is no hard top which is not a problem for me as I only drive it with the top down in the sunshine.
The car has had a full back to metal respray some years ago (not sure when), but I have some pictures to prove it. At this time, it had two new front wings and new sills of which I have the receipts. The paintwork is still pretty much perfect.
The engine was completely rebuilt at 150k and the car has only done 1. 6k since this rebuild in 2003 The rebuild included new piston rings, valve springs / guides and new bearings.
In my ownership it has had an oil service with a replacement original oil filter system, coolant flush / refill, rear brake overhaul with new shoes and a new speedo cable.
You will see that it has been fitted with a non-standard steering wheel that the previous owner preferred because of increased leg room. I have the original wooden one which will be supplied.
Other extras in the price will include the car cover, 1 gallon of oil, gear oil, a front brake overhaul kit (doesn’t need it yet) plus pads, a wind deflector, an original Triumph maintenance manual, and a Haynes manual.
The car is fitted with an immobiliser as you would expect.
I want to supply the car with a 12-month MOT and happy to make this part of the sale agreement. I know it will pass. It has only done 227 miles since the last MOT in July 2022 which it passed with no advisories.
The car starts first time every time even after being left for long periods, although I do start it regularly to get the oil moving round the engine.
