EXTERIOR
As the successor to the iconic 308, Ferrari evolved the striking wedge shape; retaining the sleek lines and proportions of the 308 whilst incorporating subtle changes for improved aerodynamics and functionality.
The GTS takes the drama a step further with its removable targa top, offering an open-air driving experience that clearly struck a chord with the market of the time as the convertible outsold the coupe by around five to one.
This incredible UK car has been kept in climate controlled storage throughout it’s life and presents in quite exquisite order with paint, rubbers and surrounds in first class condition.
INTERIOR
A stunning compliment to the Nero bodywork, the redesigned cabin space looks resplendent in beautiful soft Beige Leather alongside Nero dash and mats. The seats retain excellent integrity, colour and structure whilst gearbox tunnel, carpet and headlining all appear ‘as new’.
The back lit orange on black dashboard gauges, borrowed from the GTO, MOMO wheel and central dash pod offer retro cool like nothing else and re-affirms that fabulous racing heritage.
The front bonnet opens to reveal an immaculate space housing a full size spare wheel.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Despite it’s nominal mileage, this GTS has been the subject of significant works and attention over recent years to ensure mechanicals are perfect.
After the original owner took delivery the car was placed on a hydraulic lift within a heated garage with chalk power applied to all rubbers, all fluids removed and under a car cover. Remaining off the road until 2015, DK Engineering embarked upon a full recommission over a 5 year period, running right through the car with a fine tooth comb.
The last service was carried out by Meridien Modena in September of 2023 which included renewal of all fluids alongside replacement of the cambelt, both alternator and water pump belts and AC belt / re-charge.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The new for 328 alloy wheels sit in totally original condition – unrestored and unmarked wrapped in it’s original set of Goodyear Eagle tyres from factory.
The braking system has been inspected and serviced accordingly, with the brake control pump and pad wear leads replaced.
HISTORY FILE
This beautiful and all-original 328 GTS was delivered new to Michael Webb in Cornwall on 11 May 1989. The car was ordered through Nigel Mansell’s Emblem Sports Cars Ltd. in Nero over a beige leather interior.
Mr Webb, an avid Ferrari collector, had ordered his 328 in January of the previous year and specified it with optional air conditioning, ABS, and a rear aerofoil. Once he took delivery, the car was registered as F387 WPR. As the market was rapidly rising, Webb decided to offer the car for sale the following Monday. Unfortunately, that day would later become known as “Black Monday”. Even as the market crashed, Webb refused to accept a lesser offer for the car and the sale fell through. As such, he in turn decided to store the car and wait for the market to return. Thus, the 328 was properly decommissioned and sympathetically stored.
With a whole host of remedial works carried out by either the main dealer or DK over the years the car sits in first class condition and is on the button and ready to go.
Fortunately this unique GTS comes not only with it’s original tool roll, car cover and jack but all original order forms, correspondence and purchase invoice from Maranello UK that sit in the history file alongside the original owners wallet with stamped Tessera Di Garanzia. Quite simply the best 328 GTS available today.
