Lotus Elan S2, 1966. Total nut and bolt restoration by our favourite Elan restorer to exacting standard. The best S2 Elan we have seen for decades. Built on a Lotus galvanised chassis and all new suspension, brakes etc. Gearbox and differential rebuilt. Engine fully rebuilt using the original cylinder block. Rebored with new pistons, reground 6 bolt crankshaft. New oil pump and timing chain. new bearings, seals, valves, valve guides and everything balanced. Just 400 miles since the build was finished and the rest of the running-in process to do. Reconditioned steering rack, rebuilt 3 core radiator, rebuilt servo headlamp operators, new starter motor and dynamo plus carbs rebuilt. New dashboard, all hoses, all wheel bearings, brake discs, track-rod ends, top joints, door locks, clutch cylinder, complete new clutch. New fuel tank. New trunnions, centre console, exhaust system and sidelights.
Original body shell and panels, side windows and hood frame, wheels and bumpers.
Painted in original Cirrus White, the colour it left the factory in June 1966. Original green Log Book showing that white was the original colour.
This is an exquisite restoration by one of the best classic Lotus restorers in the country.
