Description
An excellent example of a RHD 1969 Jaguar E Type 4. 2 Roadster Mk2 with the benefit of the manual gearbox. Documented with a Jaguar cars official letter confirming - this vehicle was of UK market origin but was shipped to be first registered in the United States. This is likely due to availability in the US for LHD or this RHD example was a launch Press car.
We purchased this car directly from its 2nd UK owner in Kent where it has resided since arriving in the UK in 1987.
There are several documents and handwritten invoices for Jaguar parts from the late 80's
- but in fact, this vehicle remained in storage for many years until in 1996 when it went to a professional restoration company (Classic Coachbuilders - Classic and Sports car restorers in Sittingbourne Kent). It was here that this car had restoration works carried out from 1996 through till 1999 when it was finally completed and registered in the UK. These works are detailed on original invoices and totalled £17, 000, which in today's money is a staggering £41, 000. Little is known about the car between this time and 2005. From here it was owned and kept under a large blanket in a warm garage and driven on rare occasions. It's in an excellent condition throughout and must be similar to when it was completed 25 years ago. It drives well, has very good Classic British Racing Green paintwork, and an undamaged interior that would be a shame to be Connolised.
In this condition 10 years ago, this was a £100k plus car... today it's yours for £67, 000.
We strongly recommend you pay us a visit to experience this vehicle.
