It remains a virtually original specification with the only changes made that we are aware of, being the Hurst Short Shifter and Front Brakes Upgraded to 1965 Specification to make the car safer. It previously won the American Auto Club International 'Late Summer National' endorsing it's status as one of the best examples of these rare and iconic Muscle Cars. It has been in our humidity and temperature controlled environment since 2018, and superbly looked after. This is a truly wonderful car.
The Corvette Stingray Split Rear Window was only in production for one year - 1963. Of the 21, 513 vehicles produced that year, only 10, 594 were made as Split Window Coupes. They made such a sensation in 1963 that Chevrolet had to employ additional shifts in order to try and keep up with demand. Styled under the influence of Bill Mitchell and his successful Stingray Sports Racer, this car was an immediate hit. This car is fitted with a 5. 4litre- 327 Cubic Inch V8 producing 300bhp mated to a 4 speed Manual Gearbox which feels tight and precise, and has Independant Rear Suspension which helps to keep the power under control by improving the grip and handling.
Today, the Split Screen Corvette Stingray is revered as one of the most Beautiful cars ever made, and quite rightly so.
