- Very rare, very early version - suitable for the Mille Miglia - Matching numbers and colours Mercedes presented the Type W 121 BII at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1955. At the same time, Mercedes also presented the 300 SL super sports car of the time as a gullwing. The 190 SL, which was technically based on the so-called Ponton Mercedes, was to enjoy success in its shadow. The 190 SL was successful (25, 881 units) and is still one of the symbols of the economic miracle of the 50's and 60's. This 190 SL was delivered to New York in this colour combination on 26. 05. 1955. With chassis number 19, engine number 17 and body number 18, it is certainly one of the oldest 190 SLs still in existence, as it was one of the first 20 vehicles to leave the factory as a 190 SL. The car has all the rare details of the very early vehicles, even the super-rare sand-cast carburettors (which only the first 190 SLs had) are still present. According to the data card, the car has matching numbers and matching colours. The early 190 SL had rubber floor mats ( also on the sills ) - these are included in the purchase price.
