What is it?
VFU276J began as a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle 1300, Dubmonkey completed a fully documented nut and bolt restoration at massive cost in 2012 creating a magnificent magazine featured vehicle after which the owner embarked upon a £20k project to create a unique Restocal Beetle.
The modifications/ details are too numerous to list here but what has been created is a genuine work of art comprising a hand built engine, upgraded gearbox and suspension along with a full custom interior whilst maintaining DVLA Historic status offering zero road tax, MOT exemption and ULEZ compliance
What’s it got?
Eternally, the fully restored body has been professionally painted in Matisse Blue over Polar white. The Restocal look is completed with genuine Flat 4 Japanese wheels, Flat Four teak and stainless steel roof rack with American made luggage straps and a Australian rear sun blind and genuine VW Pop out windows.
Internally comprises a full custom cream leather interior with Recaro front seats, front and heated rear screen, Genuine Flat four GTV Billet steering wheel, Vintage speed - top of the range billet gear shifter Billet hand brake cover, MJ window winders, ACC grab handle ACC bamboo parcel shelf.
A full range of fully rewired VDO gauges keep an eye on the temps and pressures
The Original Blaupunkt chrome fronted stereo has been upgraded by Chrome London.
How does it drive?
Aside from the fabulous looks, the heart of the modifications are found in the engine which produces 150+ bhp allowing a 15. 8 second quarter mile. Full details are available upon request.
Modified steering allows for the fitment of wider 175 tyres whilst retaining full steering lock capability. It's very fast, very noisy and above very cool!
The refurnished suspension is static with height adjustability to preference.
