Suzuki was the first manufacturer to introduce a kei car in 1955, a unique Japanese concoction – small capacity, small dimensioned vehicles designed for crowded Japanese cities and roads. Over a third of Japanese domestic car manufacture is still dedicated to these miniature machines, which enjoy lower tax and insurance rates among other benefits
Launched in its home market as the Cervo back in 1977, this tiny coupé arrived in the UK two years later badged as the SC100 and became known affectionately as the 'Whizzkid'
Powered by a 970cc four-cylinder mounted at the rear and producing a modest 47bhp. That translated to a top speed of 85mph and 0-60mph in 16. 5 seconds
First registered in 1979, this UK-supplied example has been part of a private Collection, today showing just 18, 772 miles
Finished in bright red over a cream interior. Truly representing the kei ethic, it sits on silver 12" steel wheels
The GX trim of UK models meant buyers got to enjoy the delights of reclining seats, a heated rear window, cigar lighter and push-button radio
Will have an oil and filter service prior to the sale
Very few left on UK roads making this a rare opportunity
