Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at Race Retro 2025 - Collectors' Cars on Saturday the 22nd of February, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh Rd, Coventry, CV8 2LG. Offered here is an important vehicle in the story of Ultima and one which has been the lucky recipient of huge investment in recent times. This Ultima Evolution LS7 7-litre is a stunning and meticulously upgraded example and has been enhanced with a raft of bespoke and highly desirable performance/ chassis developments that are understood to have cost well into six figures in parts alone.
Put simply, this is an incredible build to the highest of standards with no expense spared over a two year period with regular factory visits assisted by Ultima aficionado, Steve Smith. Such was the quality of the build that there is a book about this very car called Evolution, containing information and images and a copy is included within the large history file.
As a desirable Evolution model, this Ultima features an uprated chassis and suspension, which the marque claims to be much stiffer than the previous GTR chassis, as well as a wider track to give it greater traction and increased cornering speeds. The overall specification is extensive and too long to list everything here but some highlights are listed below:

During current ownership, MacG Racing have been entrusted with the car's preparation and maintenance by its enthusiast private owner and he has spent c.£40, 000 in general maintenance alone over the past few years in order to make sure it's presented to the standard you see today. There are numerous invoices within the history file detailing expenditure including a recent one (January 2025) which covers the rebuild of the crated LS7 7-litre V8 - Dart cast-iron race block, new pistons, conrods, etc. all balanced by MacG Racing at a cost of over £20, 000.
The Ultima is accompanied by a large amount of useful spares including two brand new sets of wheels (one with brand new and unused Michelin tyres), race wishbones, race splitter and more, as well as two large A4 folders full of receipts, including the car’s entire build history. The appropriate number plate, LS07 EVO, is also included in the sale.
It’s difficult to emphasise just how much value is on offer here. To replicate to this standard of build, with its fresh LS7 V8, spares package and mindblowing performance, would cost two or maybe three times today's estimate. Combine this with the fact that this car forms an important part of the Ultima story with much input from the factory, confirms that this a truly unrepeatable opportunity and we welcome and encourage your earliest inspection.
