The factory records shows the bike was a special order for a Mr R. A. B. Cook, who was the editor of the VOC monthly magazine MPH at the time. It was he that christened the bike ‘Der Klink’ which  means The King. The special order shows it had 21" front wheel, 20" rear wheel with a 48 tooth rear sprocket, a 150mph speedometer and racing brake plates fitted on the front wheel. The third owner of the machine was the late John Kinley, who raced it in the 1970’s and continued to own it, until his death in 2020'
